What to Do When Your Funnel Is Live… and Still Not Converting
You've launched your funnel. The pages are live, the automations are running, and maybe even a few people have opted in or clicked through.
But… no sales. No consistency. No momentum.
If that's where you're stuck, let me be the one to say it: You’re not doing anything wrong, you’re just missing the right system to fix what’s not working.
In this post, we’ll talk about how to identify where your funnel is falling short, what not to waste time on, and how to decide whether it’s time for a rescue, or a reset.
Why Your Funnel Isn’t Converting (Even Though It’s Live)
Most coaches and course creators assume that once a funnel is live, it should just start bringing in sales. But launch pages alone don’t create conversions, funnel performance is all about optimization.
Friction kills a funnel: the resistance points where your audience gets confused, distracted, or turned off.
That friction might be:
A headline that doesn’t connect
A checkout process that’s clunky on mobile
A 27-step application that scares off serious leads
And yes, sometimes the funnel works exactly how it was set up… but it was built on the wrong foundation.
How to Diagnose What’s Broken (Without Guessing)
This is where people waste the most time, changing everything instead of fixing the right thing.
You need to use data to make your decisions.
Here’s a simple benchmark system I use inside my client work to pinpoint what’s working, what’s holding people back, and where to focus next. I call it the Funnel Fix Finder.
Lead Funnel Benchmarks:
Opt-in Rate: 25%+ is healthy. Below 15%? Something’s off.
Tripwire (SLO) Conversions:
Below 1% = red
1–2.5% = yellow
2.5%+ = green
Order Bump: Aim for 25–35% of buyers.
OTO (Upsell): 10–15% is average.
Webinar Funnel Benchmarks:
Show-up Rate (Live or Evergreen): 30–40%
Watch-through Rate: 40–50% minimum
Application Page Conversion: At least 15% opt-in
Call-to-Application Conversion: 10%+ minimum
Find your weakest link, then optimize from the top down, starting with your opt-in or registration page.
Conversion benchmarks can vary, but these are some of the most widely accepted standards across digital marketing funnels.
Common Mistakes That Sabotage Your Funnel
Franken-Funnels
Piecing together tools and templates from 5 different platforms can destroy your conversions. Conflicting styles, broken integrations, and slow load times all add friction.
Tired of duct-taping tools together? I recommend FG Funnels for a streamlined, all-in-one solution.
Skipping the Strategy
Beautiful pages can flop if you don’t map your funnel to your offer and audience from the start. You can’t fix tech when the strategy’s broken.
Overcomplicating Your Offer Stack
You’re overwhelming people if your checkout page looks like a buffet table. Simple sells.
Changing Everything at Once
The fastest way to break your funnel completely? Changing headlines, colors, pricing, copy, and CTA all at once.
What to Fix First (and What to Leave Alone)
Here’s your triage plan:
Red-level problem? (like sub-1% sales): Consider macro changes, like your offer, hook, or platform.
Yellow zone? Optimize headlines, visuals, copy, and mobile flow. One test at a time. If you’re not sure how to write headlines that convert, this copywriting guide from Copyhackers is a great place to start.
Green, but still no profit? Shift focus to traffic and follow-up. Improve your onboarding and email sequences.
And if you’re not sure what’s broken? That’s your sign to stop guessing and get help.
Rescue or Reset: Which One Do You Need?
Sometimes, a funnel can be fixed. Sometimes it needs to be rebuilt.
If your funnel is working (tech-wise) but not converting, a Funnel Rescue might be the fastest path to traction.
If your offer is unclear, your audience isn’t nailed down, or you skipped strategy completely? You probably need a reset first, and that’s where my Biz Breakthrough Clinic comes in.
Before You Go
You’ve done the hard part: you launched. That already puts you ahead of most.
But if the funnel you’ve built isn’t bringing in leads, clients, or revenue—it’s time for a real solution.
Let’s figure out what’s broken together. Book a free coffee chat, and I’ll help you decide whether you need a strategy reset or a tech rescue.
